MATHEMATICS

Emphasizes problem-solving, reasoning, and critical thinking, preparing students for success in high school math and beyond.

What is Mathematics? And why learn it?

In school, mathematics is about stuff like numbers, quantities, shapes, and patterns. It help students to study and understanding the world using different skills.

Topic in our School Mathematics

Here is a brief summary of  all Major Topic or Unit in our math curriculum in our school. ( more info in next 2 articles)

Grade 8-9

Mathematics in Palmer is mainly about numbers, quantities, shapes, and the relationships between them. It's main purpose is to help student to learn a lot of skills like calculation skills. Math 8 started will some basic calculation topics like addition (6-8) and multiplication (7-8) to more  harder topics in Grade 9 such as Fractions (7-9), Decimals (8), percentages (8-9) , and  Algebra I (9).

Grade 10-12

In grades 10- 12, the mathematics curriculum have more harder topics.  For example, Geometry(8-10), coordinate geometry(10), trigonometry (10-11) Properties of Shapes (10) Congruence and Similarity (10), Area and Volume (8-10), functions (11), logarithms (11), Complex Numbers (11) Systems of Equations and Inequalities (11) Sequences and Series (11) In Grade 10-12, student can choose 3-4different courses, Pre-Calculus 10-12, workplace 9-12, Foundations 11-12, and advanced placement calculus 12 ( AP Calculus 12)

Why Math?
