English first PPL Course Outline

Course Outline

Student who take English First Peoples 12 will learn Indigenous literature, traditions, film, and different voices from First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities in Canada. Students will also learn  identity, land, culture, resilience, and reconciliation of the first nation in Canada also learn communication, reading, and writing skills, basically like English literature but all the material in from first nation people in Canada The course is need for all students in order to graduate.

Units in the Course

All the units the course let students to learn  first ppl's  voices, stories, and worldviews. The first unit is Identity and Storytelling, students will learn how personal and cultural voice in oral and written stories. Next unit is first people Voices in Literature, like poetry, short stories, film, and other works by First Peoples. The last next unit, Land, Culture, and Worldviews, they will learn the relationship between land, community, and traditional teachings, helping students culture is so important and need to pass down through generations.
